Hoodlums cause uproar as Buhari commissions projects in Katsina
After President Muhammadu Buhari dedicated the recently built underpass bridge along Kofar Kaura Road on Thursday, hoodlums and some young Almajiris’ took to the streets and threw stones.
According to a witness who spoke to ejesgist.ng, the hoodlums were also seen throwing stones at the project site while chanting in Hausa, “we are not interested.”

Security personnel worked with vigilantes to eventually calm the commotion, which had lasted more than 30 minutes.
To control the situation, teargas was used; however, while covering the president’s activities, some journalists are said to have inhaled the teargas smoke.

In response to the development, Katsina Police Command spokesperson SP Gambo Isah said there was absolutely no protest and that Mr. President was not jeered as some media outlets had claimed.
However, he claimed that police officers detained some thugs stirring up trouble near Sabuwar Unguwa, a notorious location in the state for Indian hemp and drug dealers.

In order to commission some projects carried out by the state government, President Buhari is paying a two-day visit to his home state.
