He requested the assistance of the governor of Rivers, Nyesom Wike, during his visit.
He urged Wike to remain true to his beliefs and added that the Rivers governor’s support for LP will improve the party’s chances in the 2023 elections.
He assured Itubo that the two of them would get along well at work.
“I sincerely apologize for the lapse and extend my condolences to Mrs. Beatrice Itubo, the Labour Party candidate in Rivers State.
I was neither alerted or aware of her illness when I visited Port Harcourt a few days ago,” he claimed.

“The Labour Party presidential state coordinator in Rivers state and other party stakeholders welcomed me when I arrived.
We had a fruitful discussion, and I let them know that I will be returning for our party’s rally and other LP events in the near future and that I had come to humbly accept an invitation from the Rivers state government.
I would have visited our candidate before or after the event, but no one mentioned that she was ill.
I genuinely hope you recover quickly, and I want to reassure you that we have a fantastic working relationship. God’s blessings are with you continually.
