Wike Opens up on alleged Ayu’s visit to Ikpeazu, Reveals Standing

Governor Nyesom Wike said that none of the G-5 Governors went to see Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Ayu said at the PDP rally in Markudi, the capital of Benue State, that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia had come to see him after his preferred candidate lost the rerun governorship primary rerun in Abia. Markudi is the capital of Benue State.

“The problem with Governor Ikpeazu has been fixed, and he is coming back. “He was at my house two days ago because his candidate didn’t win the primary,” Ayu said.

But Wike said that the comment was a form of blackmail and said that neither he nor any other G5 governor went to Ayu’s house.

“Nobody can blackmail us. We won’t go anywhere and meet anyone. We are what we are. We have fought before, so this is not the first time. “We will win this battle in the end,” he said.

He said that he and the other people in the G-5 were not going to let anyone get them to leave a party they had planned.

“We have taken them to court. We’re not trying to get away from them because all of our candidates went to court and so did our party. I also went to court. We’re going to stay here and fight it. No one is going to make us run away.

“Are we going to run from robbers with guns? It can’t happen. We’re not going to leave the house we built. We’ll chase you out instead, because you’re used to running,” he said.

Governors Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), and Okezie Ikpeazu are all part of G-5, which is at odds with Ayu and is led by Wike.
