Nyesome Wike Clarifies Ministerial Appointment and Unveils 10-Point Agenda for FCT
In the wake of a heated controversy surrounding his recent appointment as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesome Wike, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has set the record straight, shedding light on the circumstances of his involvement in the All Progressive Congress (APC) government.

Among the key points of his agenda are tackling issues related to security, city sanitation, preservation of the Abuja Master Plan, infrastructure development, restoration of green areas, removal of shanties, blocking of revenue leakages, and ground rent payments, among other pressing matters.

Wike, who was the former governor of Rivers State, shared insights into his interactions with the PDP leadership regarding his new role.
When President Bola Tinubu extended the ministerial appointment offer, Wike promptly communicated with the PDP National Chairman, Umar Damagun, the South-South zonal chairman of the party, and the Rivers State chairman.
Their collective endorsement affirmed his decision to take up the ministerial position, albeit under the APC government.

He firmly stated, “The FCT is in this state and you think the people are bothered about the party flag I fly? I will fly the Nigerian flag and ensure the FCT returns to the dreams of the founding fathers.”
