Soludo has no regret over anti-Obi comments” – Aide reveals as Wike drags the Anambra Governor
Earlier, Governor Charles Soludo wished Peter Obi luck and supported the APGA candidate’s bid for the presidency, but this did not sit well with the political community, and he came under fire for it.
On November 17, Rivers state governor Nyesom Wike criticised Soludo’s actions and choice to oppose Obi’s candidacy while stating that he completely supports the Labour Party candidate.

In response, Soludo’s assistant insisted the governor of Anambra state has no remorse over his remark about Obi, while also pointing out that he has a right to his view.
The press secretary for Professor Chukwuma Soludo, the governor of Anambra state, Christian Aburime, has stated that his principal stands by his remarks on Peter Obi, a former governor of the state and a candidate for the Labour Party presidency.
In the upcoming presidential election, Soludo had written off the chances of the Labour Party’s candidate and criticised Ndigbo for its campaign tactics.
Soludo claims he has no regrets about turning down Obi’s request for support.

The action elicited conflicting emotions around the nation, but especially on social media, where Soludo faced harsh criticism.
However, in response to the complaints, the assistant to the former governor of the central bank argued that Soludo was entitled to his viewpoint.
On Thursday, November 17, Aburime responded to inquiries from The Punch in Awka.
He stated:
“Soludo has absolutely no regrets because everything he said has already been said, and he should not be insulted for expressing his opinion,”

On November 17, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state encouraged Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, to disregard jealous detractors, particularly those from his home state of Anambra.
This was stated by the governor of Rivers at the opening of the Nkpolu-Oroworokwo Flyover in Port Harcourt, the state’s capital.
