March 18 polls: Wike’s Similanayi Fubara of PDP wins Rivers Governorship election
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for governor of Rivers State, Similanayi Fubara, has been declared the winner of the election.
On Monday evening in Port Harcourt, the Returning Officer announced that Fubara received 302,614 votes. Pastor Tonye Cole, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor, placed second with 95,274 votes.

The incumbent Governor, Nyesom Wike, has designated Fubara as his successor.
