The Progressive Yoruba Youth Congress (PYYC) has called upon President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the ongoing political upheaval in Rivers State, urging him to address the crisis that has rocked the region.
Speaking at a press conference held in Lagos, the coordinator of PYYC, Prince Akintunde Adedeji, criticized the involvement of former Governor Nyesom Wike in the unfolding crisis.
Adedeji also expressed concern over the President’s silence on the matter, suggesting that it might be perceived as tacit support for Wike’s actions.

“We, therefore, appeal to President Tinubu to note and act on the things we know he must do to save Nigeria,” the group stated.
Highlighting the need for President Tinubu to openly condemn what they termed an “assault on democracy” in Rivers State, the PYYC urged him to direct all government institutions to operate within the confines of the law.
Additionally, the group appealed to the 27 lawmakers from Rivers State who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to reconsider their decision and revert to their previous political affiliations.
